Sun Revolution

I remember when the revolution had just begun
The way we were smiling and laughing marching in the rising sun
I remember how you had said you joined "just for fun"
And how I had to finally become someone

I recall the soldiers dying on the battlefield
Falling to a fearsome foe to whom we dared not yield
Because the consequence was worse than our own deaths
To be doomed to a future we could not accept
We'd rather die on our knees than live running with regret

Our calls to our God went unanswered
A twist of fate which we did not expect
This is one of the hardest parts for me to recollect
Yet I still feel we were guided by a powerful force
Our armies faithfully kept fighting till they reached the source

On that blessed day the revolution had finally won
During the battle I clung to your sword tearfully
Jumping from foe to foe using it eagerly...
Then I killed the Evil King as he cowered behind his throne
Pathethic and cornered he could no longer run
I and the surviving rebels basked gloriously
In the rising sun...
