Brother's Truck

You had a good truck
it was beat up like all heck
rusting but only cosmetic
To get it started you kinda had to crank it
Keep giving it gas
People would push it
Then you would turn the key
and shift it
Then you gave the steering wheel a turn
Kinda yanked it
You just got her stuck in the mud is all
By the time we pulled her out
i had dirt all over my overalls
Lesson learned i guess
even something old and beat up
and is still useful
might run into trouble
so you can't just put your feet up
wearing your fine clothes
counting your money
ignoring the plight of others
obsessed with making only

Family is supposed to mean
that when you need help you can
call on me
